This June 9 we attended the Foro Ciudadano radio program to talk about our Open Call 2023 . The space was attended by Isabel Castillo, in charge of MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning) and member of the Alchemy Programs team.

The program led by the feminist communicator Vicky Quevedo, focused on informing about the purpose of the Call and how to apply for it, targeting mainly those organizations that do not know that they are eligible for financing for their activities, initiatives and work plans.

"We want to support grassroots organizations, collectives and groups of people who come together to activate in their territories. To all those people who organize to improve their lives and those of all, everyone and everyone. We want to support groups with initiatives of a character transformative: who are questioning the material and symbolic conditions in which we currently live. They are people who are constantly doing things to improve living conditions, seeking dignity and a good life," explained Isabel Castillo.

In this search, Isabel told that during Alquimia's 21-year history, we have supported more than 800 organizations with different types of transformative strategies, such as community radio stations, free schools, street interventions, content generation, organizations that work for the sexual and reproductive rights, of unions, sex workers, lesbians, trans, non-binary, among others. "These are groups from different territories making an endless number of strategies that come together in the desire for a better life," he said.

Regarding the application, Isabel Castillo invited the organizations to join this process through our website and complete the online form. He stressed that to apply it is not necessary to have legal personality, or experience applying to competitive funds. "We are concerned with making the processes increasingly simple so that more organizations can apply. In general terms, the idea is that the organizations tell us who they are, what they are going to do during the next 10 months and how much money they will need to do it".

In the same way, the person in charge of MEL referred to the work of Alchemy, specifically to the work of Mobilization of Resources. "We collect resources from different types of donors. Anyone who believes in the transformative power of social organizations can donate to Alquimia and contribute to its support."
